"Learning Resources For Seniors" presented by Hewie Poplock, APCUG Rep, Central Florida Computer Society & Sarasota Technology Users GroupNo matter our age, there is still a lot to learn. Hewie’s presentation covers many websites where we can add to our knowledge – not always about technology. Lifelong learning is the process of keeping your mind and body engaged—at any age—by actively pursuing knowledge and experience.
The pursuit of knowledge through lifelong learning—whether it’s learning how to dance, speak a foreign language, write a newsletter, improve your golf swing, or repair your car—has wonderful benefits for adults 50-plus.

"How Technology Can Save your Life, Part 2" with Ron Brown, Program Chair, Silvercom CTC
This is a continuation of Mary’s story, who is a fictitious senior, widowed and lives in a resort in Mesa Arizona. She has a fall at night that results in a broken hip from an undiagnosed heart problem. In Part 1 I discussed the importance of knowing what your heart rate is and the many devices that can monitor and record. Part 2 will focus on Fall Detection, Emergency Notification, and Home automation to ensure safety for a senior living alone. I will discuss how to set up a home network, the Echo Show, Google Nest, and the New Zoom All-in One Home appliance.
